With most of the annual July 4th Independence Day activities in Gibbon and Shelton cancelled due to the coronavirus and the Directed Health Measures that govern public gatherings, the staff of the Clipper will not have the opportunity to show off our communities as we have normally done in the past. This does not mean our towns and our people won’t have family celebrations.

COVID-19 casualties

Due to directives issued by Two Rivers Health Department and Governor Peter Ricketts, the annual Independence Day Parade in Gibbon has been cancelled. The Gibbon Chamber of Commerce and Gibbon city officials attempted to put together a workable plan to follow regulations to continue this annual event but the efforts were ultimately denied by Two Rivers Health Department. The chamber regrets any inconvenience the cancellation may cause.
