The Shelton School Board of Education used a portion of the August 10 regular meeting to preview the school reopening plan that was prepared for the district. Other more routine agenda items included the budget reports, administrators’ reports, evaluations, and the approval of staff and student handbooks.
In its final regular monthly meeting before the 2020-21 school year, the Gibbon Board of Education worked through an agenda of housekeeping items on Monday, August 10.
The Magnolia Mac Salon is now open in the Shelton business district just north of RAI of Nebraska Insurance. Owner Christina Baker, a native of Shelton and graduate of Shelton High School, opened the salon early in July. She is a 2014 graduate of Joseph’s College of Beauty and she and husband, Nick, have two children, Colter and McKinlee. The Magnolia Mac Salon is a full service salon and Christina is certified in hair extensions and lash lifts. Derek Tomjack, Celia Reid, Matty Smith, Kelli Plihal, and Kevin Asher make up the 2020 “class” of new teachers at Wood River Public School. Classes resumed for students on Tuesday, August 18.
Three new teachers have joined the Gibbon Public School staff for the 2020-21 school year which began on Monday, August 17. Those newcomers are Bridgette Kirkover, Nesha Yockey, and Jess Lansman.
