Join Celebrate Wood River Performing Arts and Stick Creek Kids Child Development Center on Sunday, September 13, at 2:30 p.m. for a fabulous afternoon of fun and music from the socially-distanced comfort of your own car. The concert will be held in the parking lot of Wood River Rural High School where Billy McGuigan will perform his Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience concert.
Shelton Local Economic Development Plan to face voters in November

At the regular monthly August meeting of the Shelton Village Board of Trustees, the board voted to approve the final draft of the Shelton Local Economic Development Plan and place the plan on the ballot to be voted on by residents in the 2020 general election this November.
Sales tax decision put on ballot for Gibbon voters

Mayor Deb VanMatre and the Gibbon City Council gave an update on plans for a fire hall/city hall/community room at the council’s regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 17, and the council mulled over three ballot initiatives regarding that project during the meeting.
Shelton Cornerstone Bank makes donation to SPS weight room

Cornerstone Bank, of Shelton, led by Michael Kasper, recently made a generous donation to the Shelton Public School’s weight room. With this money the district has purchased three multi-purpose racks to replace the older ones, three adjustable benches, and multiple selector weight equipment, such as a leg press, lat/mid/ low row machine, adjustable arm press, and chin-up/dip assist machine. The students will utilize all of this equipment, but especially the racks and benches.
