Councilman Leon Stall was elected to serve as president of the Gibbon City Council as that body met for its final regular monthly meeting of the year on Monday, December 21.
A spacious Christmas display is lighting up the night sky in southwest Wood River, courtesy of the Kopersky’s at 103 East 5th Street. The display features daytime and nighttime characters and themes that span half a city block. The family project was declared the contest winner during the Stick Creek Kids family scavenger hunt that was held on November 21.
The Gibbon Board of Education held a relatively short regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 14, and covered items such as the NRCSA Project and State Aid Recalculations.
The Shelton Board of Education met Monday, December 14, moving through a short agenda to end the monthly meeting cycle for the year. According to Superintendent Dr. Shanna Gannon, much of the discussion time was spent on the budget and finances of the district. Dr. Gannon said that discussion was held on accessing a finance consultant to assist with decisions for future goals. Other discussion items on the agenda addressed moving money from CD to savings accounts.
