Small town pride displayed at Shelton Independence Day celebration!

Shelton’s Independence Day theme “Small Town Proud” could be seen throughout events held on Sunday and Monday, July 3 and 4. Parade grand marshals, Cathi and Jim Lewis (above), covered the parade route in style on Monday which was preceded by pool games (right) on Sunday. Gibbon celebration “shimmers” on Independence Day

The Gibbon Independence Day celebration was once again a well attended event on Monday which included the annual parade. The parade featured, among many, many other entries, parade grand marshals Carol and Albert Krueger (above) and the Gibbon High School Shimmers dance team (left). Shelton Fireworks show continues as costs skyrocket

Despite the continued rise in costs to hold the annual Shelton fireworks show, the community has stepped up for another year of funding. The Give Where You Live campaign held in December has been the big donation drive that gives the fund the kick start, with other donations in June and July picking up the rest of the costs.
