Santa and Mrs. Claus make everything Merry and Bright

Smiles and cameras come out when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive in town. The Clauses’ visit was part of Shelton’s Merry and Bright celebration held on Sunday, December 3, in the business district, presented by the Shelton Area Lions Club. Shelton’s streets teemed with activity as people of all ages, bundled against the cold and stiff wind, enjoyed food at the American Legion Hall, a petting zoo, hayrack rides, cookie decorating, family photos, a fire pit with s’mores, and kids’ games, “Christmas Read Aloud,” a raffle, vendors at the Historical Society, letters to Santa, and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus themselves. Gibbon High mock trial team qualifies for state competition

The Gibbon High School mock trial team defeated Grand Island Northwest on Thursday, November 16, in the regional championship held at the Hall County Courthouse in Grand Island. The team will go on to compete at the state mock trial competition in Lincoln on December 11 and 12. Receiving Best Attorney and Best Witness certificates, pictured at right, were Brayden Montgomery (left) and Kacie Jarmin. Ring in the season this Sunday at Shelton’s “Merry and Bright”

After nearly a year the wait is almost over! You are invited to “Merry and Bright” this Sunday, December 3, presented by the Shelton Area Lions Club. Ring in the season from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. while enjoying food, drinks, music, shopping, raffle baskets, entertainment, kids’ activities, hayrack rides, and much more. Good little boys and girls will love chatting with Santa and Mrs. Claus who promise to make a special appearance! Celebrate with family and friends under thousands of twinkling lights at downtown Shelton’s holiday event.
