The City of Wood River is among the Nebraska communities who recently had the community’s name given to a room on the USS Nebraska nuclear powered, Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine.
Volunteers took time from their holiday activities on Saturday, December 23, to help the Shelton Goodfellows assemble and pack boxes for distribution to those in need. Volunteers are instrumental to the Goodfellows’ overall mission. “No Child Without Christmas.”
Due to the upcoming holidays of Christmas and New Years, the Shelton Clipper office will be closed on Monday, December 25, and Monday, January 1.

Since December of 2015, Patti Cochrane-Crites, also known as “Postal Patti” to some, has served customers behind the counter at the Shelton Post Office. On Friday, December 29, she will officially retire from the postal service.
