Codners to celebrate 50th anniversary
Wayne and Dixie Codner will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on August 23, 2025, with an open house at Babel’s Barn in Wood River from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A meal will be served from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Music will be provided by Mohanna with Red Shoes. Wain Codner and Dixie Shupe were married August 23, 1975, at the United Methodist Church in Shelton. Please let your presence be your gift.
HCHS to dedicate new Nebraska State Historical Marker on August 4
The Hall County Historical Society (HCHS) is pleased to announce the dedication of a new Nebraska State Historical Marker honoring Othman Ali (O.A.) Abbott, Nebraska’s first Lieutenant Governor on Monday, August 4, at 3:00 p.m. at Pioneer Park in Grand Island.
Bloodmobile set for Aug. 5 in Wood River
The Wood River Red Cross Bloodmobile will be Tuesday, August 5, at the Wood River Community Center from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. You can register online at www. redrossblood.org.
