With a triangular on Thursday, December 11, at Southern Valley and the Wood River Invite on Friday, the Shelton boys had a busy 24 hours of mat time.
Through three games on the home court last week, the Shelton Lady Bulldogs dominated their opponents for three consecutive wins. The Shelton ladies outpaced Pleasanton on Tuesday, December 9, 52-39, before topping Kenesaw, 64-44, on Thursday, December 11, and finished the week with a sound 50-13 thrashing of Wilcox/Hildreth.
The Wood River United Methodist Church is sponsoring the American Red Cross Bloodmobile next Tuesday, December 16, at the Wood River Community Building. The Bloodmobile will run from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. There will be machines to give double units as well as single units.
The Shelton girls wrestling team traveled to the York Invitational last Friday, December 5, and came away with three medalists and a ninth place team finish. Emily Wiehn and Grace Dack took third place in their divisions, and Payton Braun took fifth. Newcomer Julina Kurz rounded out the wrestlers for the Shelton squad, competing in the 190 pound class.
The Wood River Eagle boys wrestlers kicked off the new season by hosting a dual with Aurora on Thursday, December 4, and then were part of the 18-team field at the Ravenna Invitational on Friday, December 5.
