Last week was a little quieter on the volleyball court compared to the week prior as the Wood River Lady Eagles only had their home triangular on the schedule. Wood River hosted the Lady Bluejays of Ravenna and the Lady Bulldogs of Shelton for a triangular on Tuesday, October 7.
“The success continues for our cross country team,” said Wood River cross country head coach Matt Cantrell of the LouPlatte Conference meet held at Gibbon Valley View Municipal Golf Course on Tuesday, October 7. “For the first time since 2008, we took home a team award for our third-place boys finish.” The Eagles finished the day with 32 team points for the third place finish. The Doniphan/Trumbull boys came away with the conference championship with 13 team points.

Last week, the Shelton cross country teams took on runners at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Invitational and fellow conference runners at the Twin Valley Conference meet held at Red Cloud, where the boys team emerged as TVC champions.
