The Wood River FFA Chapter proudly celebrated its 10th anniversary of reinstatement with a record-breaking banquet held on Friday, April 25, recognizing a year filled with achievements, leadership growth, and new opportunities.

By Donna (Howell) Randall 1952 Gibbon High School Graduate My great-grandfather Applegate’s family settled south of Gibbon in the early 1870’s. Many of his ancestors strode the halls of Gibbon High School. My mother graduated in 1922, and I graduated in 1952.
Students at Gibbon Elementary presented a matinee of their spring concert on Monday afternoon in preparation for two evening performances for family and friends on Monday and Tuesday, April 28 and 29. Musical numbers presented by kindergarten and first graders included “Ain’t We Got Fun?” and “Don’t Sit Still”; second and third graders sang “Play Another Happy Song” and “This Is Your Land.” Fourth and fifth graders gave renditions of “Beautiful Nebraska” and “Ready For Tomorrow” and the sixth grade band presented tunes such as “When the Saints Go Marching In.” (—photo by Reuben Reyes)
