Go Big GIVE 2025 features seven Clipper Country nonprofits

Seven Clipper Country nonprofits will participate in the Thursday, May 1, Go Big GIVE 24-hour, online event organized by the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation and Heartland United Way. Go Big GIVE brings Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick Counties together as one community, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits during the 24-hour online giving day. The event inspires people to give generously to nonprofits making the heartland stronger, creating a thriving community for all.

Fiber to the Home construction and Gigabit Internet coming for residents of Shelton

Hamilton Telecommunications has announced its plans to expand fiber-optic infrastructure in Shelton, making fiber to the home broadband available for all residents in the community and surrounding rural area. With fiber installation, Hamilton will be delivering the fastest Internet speeds available, including options such as the whole home Gigabit (Gig) plan that delivers speeds that are eight times faster than the top speed previously offered by Hamilton and ranks among the fastest in the industry, nationwide.

Wood River Rural Superintendent Zessin among Nebraska FFA Cornerstone Award recipients

The Nebraska State FFA Association recognizes those who have dedicated themselves to doing their part to better the organization and the assisting the chapters and students in it. At the 97th Nebraska FFA State Convention, April 2 through 4, individuals and organizations received honors at various sessions including The Cornerstone Award, whose recipients included Wood River Rural School Superintendent Terry Zessin.
