At a budget hearing and special hearing prior to the Gibbon Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 10, board members arrived at a proposed 2025-26 tax request, which was approved during the regular meeting.

Aurora Cooperative Elevator Company, a Nebraska cooperative corporation (“Aurora Cooperative”) is pleased to announce the completion of its merger with Farmers Union Co-Operative Association of Kearney, Nebraska (“Farmers Union”). Cornerstone Bank hosts community appreciation bbq night
Cornerstone Bank in Shelton said “thank you” to customers and members of the community on Friday, September 5, by hosting a community appreciation barbecue night at Veterans Memorial Park. Pulled pork sandwiches, potatoes, pasta salad, cookies and a beverage were served by members of the Cornerstone Bank crew. Nice late summer weather prevailed for the event which was well attended.
Wood River Fire and Rescue awarded Black Hills Energy Funds for firefighters grant
September is National Preparedness Month, a time to spotlight the importance of readiness and resilience in our communities. In recognition, Black Hills Energy is proud to support local firefighters with $135,000 in Funds for Firefighters safety grants, a 2025 giving initiative of the Black Hills Corporation Foundation.
