At the cross country meet hosted by Ravenna at the city’s golf course Thursday, September 17, Hensley Alvarado and Victoria Castro, along with Omar Tinajero, Dylan Alvarado, Jose Zarraga, Alex Wagner, and Brandon White ran for Wood River in the meet that featured 68 runners in the girls race and 114 in the race for the boys. A total of 15 schools were represented at the meet. “It was a beautiful day to run a challenging course,” said Coach Gretchen Wiseman. “The temperature was perfect.”

The Awarii Challenge awaited the Gibbon Lady Buffalo golfers at Awarii Dunes Golf Course south of Kearney on Thursday, September 10, where they finished eighth of the ten teams competing.
“We were very pleased with the way the girls came out and played the first two sets tonight,” said Gibbon head volleyball coach Lonna Pickel of the Lady Buffaloes loss to Hastings St. Cecilia 19-25, 21-25 and 8-25 on Thursday, September 10, on the home floor in Gibbon.
