Mustangs fall, ’Bow ladies bow to Eagles

Broken Bow’s Lady Indians can no longer lay to claim an undefeated status, and Sutton’s Lady Mustangs saw one more loss come their way at the hands of the once-defeated Lady Eagles from Wood River. The Eagle ladies, after having earned notice by being tabbed as the seventh-rated team in the state, took care of business by defending their home floor Thursday, January 14, getting past Sutton by 12 points, 59-47. On the next night in Broken Bow, the hosts tasted defeat for the first time in 14 games, falling to Wood River by seven, 54-47. Maybe more significantly, the loss ended Broken Bow’s 28-game home floor win streak as well. The two teams now have matching records for the season at 13 wins and just one loss.
