English leads as Eagle golfers compete at invitational and LPC

Wood River’s Eagle golfers were on hand when Grand Island Central Catholic hosted an invitational golf meet at the Indianhead course in Grand Island Tuesday, May 4, then took on the other teams in the LouPlatte Conference at the league’s championship meet played at Centura Hills in Cairo Thursday, the 6th. Eli English capped his senior season by earning Secondteam All-Conference status at the LouPlatte meet, as well as leading the Eagles at the invitational.

Gibbon Pathways to Success class raises over $1 million in scholarships and grants

They called it, “The Year of the Crane,” as 19 Gibbon High School Pathways to Success students embarked on a scholarship journey with an incredible end goal. The goal they set in August was that collectively, members of the class would earn at least $1,000,000 in scholarships and grants for their post-secondary education.

Centurion boys dominant force, Davis wins event at LPC track meet

Five event wins, four of which involved Eli Wooden, carried Centura’s easy trek to the championship trophy at the LouPlatte Conference track meet held in Loup City Friday, April 30. Centura’s total of 110 points far outpaced St. Paul’s total for second place and Ord’s efforts that put the Chants in third place among the conference’s nine teams.
