High School Track Championships

The Clipper area schools have a strong contingent of athletes converging in Omaha this week to compete at the 2021 state track championships. The state meet has been divided up into individual classes this year. All of the competition will still be held at Burke Stadium. The Shelton Bulldogs are competing in the Class D meet, that began Wednesday morning and concludes on Thursday early afternoon. Gibbon, Wood River, and Centura will be competing in the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday in the Class C field of competitors.

Centurion boys, girls dominate home track meet

By scoring an impressive total of 264 points at the home triangular track meet Thursday, May 6th, Centura’s boys outscored the runner-up team from Gibbon and the third team from Ravenna. The two visiting teams garnered respective scores of 140 and 67. The order of the teams remained the same in the competition between the three girls’ teams, with Centura’s 189 bettering Gibbon’s 144 and Ravenna’s 135. With just the district and state meets remaining on the schedule, this meet marks the end of the regular season.
