The Gibbon volleyball team picked up its first win of the season last week but struggled in contests later in the week. Gibbon defeated Elba in three sets, 25-16, 12-25, and 25-22 on Tuesday, August 31, and then dropped two sets to Nebraska Christian, 9-25 and 11-25.
“We managed to get varsity teams in before the storm came through,” reported Wood River Cross Country Head Coach Matt Cantrell of the Eagle boys and girls teams’ experience at the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, September 2, which was threatened by thunderstorms and rain.
