The Annual Shelton High School Speech Showcase was held on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the school library. The 2021-2022 Shelton High School Speech team is comprised of 15 members, seven of which are seniors. Jeanne Pope is this year’s coach. Members of the Wood River Rural High School speech team competed at the C1-5 District meet held at Grand Island Central Catholic on Wednesday, March 2. Eva Green and Anthony Garcia placed fifth in Duet, Eva Green was fourth in Humorous Prose, and Jacob Morse was sixth in serious prose. The Shelton Lady Bulldogs move on with a 52-47 win over Niobrara/Verdigre to play Hartington Cedar Catholic this morning (Thursday) at 9:00. The boys fell short of a state tournament victory, falling to top seeded O’Neill St. Mary’s 60-42. Follow the tournament action on our social media posts and in next week’s Clipper.
