The Nebraska State FFA Association recognizes those who have dedicated themselves to doing their part to better the organization and the assisting the chapters and students in it. At the 97th Nebraska FFA State Convention, April 2 through 4, individuals and organizations received honors at various sessions including The Cornerstone Award, whose recipients included Wood River Rural School Superintendent Terry Zessin.
Leah Gleason, of FGH Law, with offices in Shelton and Seward, was presented the Nebraska Lawyers Foundation Visionary Award in a ceremony held on Saturday, April 5, in Omaha.

The Youth Philanthropy Board (YPB), a group of high school juniors, has awarded $27,170 in grants to Hall County nonprofits during their capstone presentation held on Thursday, April 3, at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island.
