A group of twenty-two mentors and mentees from the Shelton TeamMates chapter spent the day in Lincoln attending the TeamMates graduation ceremony in the morning and the Husker spring game in the afternoon on Saturday, April 22. Mayte Meza, who has been in the TeamMates program since her seventh grade year, joined 55 other seniors from around the state who were announced in the morning ceremony at Haymarket Park baseball stadium. Mayte’s mentor is Lori Glenn.
At its regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 17, the Gibbon City Council approved water and sewer rate increases, discussed a request for a street closure, architecture agreements for work at the new city hall/community center, and debated placing stop signs at Eighth and Pine Streets among other items filling its monthly agenda.
Denise Zwiener, the executive director of Buffalo County Community Partners, and members of her team will attend a meeting in Shelton on Wednesday, May 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Shelton United Methodist Church to talk about their organization and its activities supporting Buffalo County.
