Work on Gibbon fire hall progressing

Work on the long anticipated addition to the Gibbon fire hall continues with work currently being done on interior building walls, electrical, plumbing, etc, according to Gibbon City Administrator Matt Smallcomb. He said that drywall work will begin this week. Smallcomb added that crews are also waiting on exterior brick materials to finish the outside of the building. Once that is complete, they will begin paving approaches on the outside of the building. “Driving by, the public won’t see much progress until later in August and September when additional doors are being cut in and they start painting,” Smallcomb said. “We meet monthly with the contractor, the architect, and the city.”
