At a special meeting of the Shelton Village Board of Trustees on Monday, June 1, board members approved opening the swimming pool on Wednesday, June 10, and organized baseball practices and games at the baseball field, discussed July 4 activities; and hired a new police officer for the village.
Wyatt Ohlman, a 2020 graduate of Shelton High School, and son of Rich and Justine Ohlman, has qualified for and has received the State FFA Degree, an honor that places him among a very select group of former Shelton FFA members. The State Degree is the highest that can be bestowed by the State FFA Association, the ceremony for which is usually a part of the annual state FFA convention in Lincoln.
Despite no services due to coronavirus concerns and a lot of rain, and cool, dreary conditions all through Memorial Day weekend, decorations found their way to area cemeteries honoring family and friends buried there and flags were placed at the graves of veterans who served their country.
