Fourth of July spirit shines in Shelton

Members of the Queens and Jokers Club took top honors with the winning float in the Shelton parade. The lively group won with their colorful and patriotic float, and with the enthusiasm they showed throughout the parade route. Participants in the annual Shelton Stampede Run also showed many forms of patriotic flare, as shown at right. Gibbon combines Independence Day with 150th anniversary celebration

The community of Gibbon celebrated Independence Day as well as its 150th anniversary with a parade and other activities on Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4. The parade included members of the Gibbon Heritage Center (above, left) on one of the entries. Many parade entries threw candy to youngsters along the parade route, bringing smiles to those there to collect the sweets.
