Participants in the annual Shelton Stampede Run also showed many forms of patriotic flare, as shown at right. The community of Gibbon celebrated Independence Day as well as its 150th anniversary with a parade and other activities on Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4. The parade included members of the Gibbon Heritage Center (above, left) on one of the entries. Many parade entries threw candy to youngsters along the parade route, bringing smiles to those there to collect the sweets. A full feature section highlighting Gibbon’s celebration will be included in next week’s Clipper. (–photos by Dennis Walker)
