Full day of activities on tap for Shelton July 4th celebration

A Shelton July Fourth parade theme of “Shelton UNMASKED; Patriotic Fun in 2021” has been chosen for this year, after a “unique” 2020 year, to say the least. The theme combines our spirit of persevering through uncertain and chaotic times, and demonstrating our American pride of pushing through the past 15 months together.

Gibbon American Legion holds flag disposal ceremony

Members of Gibbon American Legion Post #310 and Gibbon American Legion Auxiliary held a flag disposal ceremony on Monday evening, June 14, which was also Flag Day. Members and leaders of Boy Scout Troop 136, of Kearney, and members of the Legion Auxiliary and the public also participated in disposing of no longer serviceable American flags under the close supervision of Gibbon Legion member Frank Spotanski. Smith receives recognition for years of service on Shelton Housing Authority

At the regular monthly board meeting of the Shelton Housing Authority held on Tuesday, May 25, current Shelton Housing Authority Board Chair Sharon Myers presented former board member Jerilyn Smith with a small token of appreciation for her years of service to the Shelton Housing Authority. Jerilyn Smith served from 2009 to 2021, serving as the board chair in the latter part of her years of serving. “Jerilyn will be missed on the board and her time served is greatly appreciated,” said Shelton Housing Agency Executive Director Rosann David.
