Gibbon Public School to hold Veterans Day program Nov. 11

All area veterans and members of the public are cordially invited to the Veterans Day program presented by Gibbon Public School on Thursday, November 11, at 1:00 p.m. Staff and students will present a Virtual Veterans Day Quilt of Valor, patriotic music, and the “Hometown Heroes” slideshow to honor local veterans. Please go to the school website gibbonpublic.org and select Menu-Students-BTV to submit a veteran.

Staff Sergeant Cameron Araujo, a recruiter with the Nebraska Army National Guard based out of McCook, will be the featured speaker at the Veterans Day program held at Shelton Public School on Thursday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m.

Dr. Kurt Hackemer, Professor of History at the University of South Dakota, will be speaking at the Gibbon Heritage Center on Sunday, November 7. In conjunction with Gibbon’s Sesquicentennial, the Heritage Center will be hosting a program honoring local veterans. The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will also include a recognition of the Veteran’s Memorial Wall.
