Thanks to contributions from the Village of Shelton and the Shelton Lions Club, new playground equipment was installed at Veterans Memorial Park last week. Village Clerk Bonnie Doremus said that the project has been planned for over several years and that the equipment arrived in December. Wet conditions this spring delayed installation until last week. She said that the entire project cost approximately $45,000. The village budgeted about $40,000 to the project, $20,000 from Keno funds and $20,000 from the village. Installation of the equipment is estimated at $9,500. The Shelton Area Lions Club’s $7,500 contribution came from the generous Give Where You Live donations from the 2018 and 2019 campaigns as well as the proceeds from the 2020 chili cook-off.
