Janice (Randall) Martin celebrating 73 years since graduating from Gibbon Public

Janice (Randall) Martin’s great-grandfather came through the Gibbon area in late April, 1852, on the Oregon/California trail from Ohio. He went to California before returning to his family in Ohio and later settling near Gibbon. Janice says it must have been a beautiful April day when he came through for him to settle here of all places! Janice’s parents, Floyd and Edna (Hammans) Randall, moved to a house northwest of Gibbon in 1920 and never moved. Floyd and Edna both graduated from Gibbon in 1916, Janice graduated in 1950, and her daughter, Sina Martin Lehn graduated from Gibbon in 1986. Daughter, Jill Martin, died when she was a second grader of a congenital heart condition.
