USAF Heartland of America Band to present a free concert in Wood River

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band’s brass ensemble, Offutt Brass, will present a free concert on Sunday, October 23, at 2:30 p.m., at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Center, 13800 W. Wood River Road, Wood River. Offutt Brass performs as a brass quintet with a percussionist, proudly showcasing the U.S. Air Force’s excellence, precision, versatility, and innovation in every performance. Their program features a wide variety of music and celebrates worldwide American musical influence spanning the last 75 years.

Senator Deb Fischer (left), who represents Nebraska’s 43rd legislative district, stopped in Gibbon on Monday afternoon, October 3, and spent over an hour visiting with members of the Gibbon Chamber of Commerce. Senator Fischer fielded questions about state and national topics as well as heard about the good things happening in Gibbon and things that could use improvement. Walking trail in Davis Park heads list of Gibbon recreational improvements

“In late 2020, the city applied for and received a $15,000 grant from UPRR (Union Pacific Railroad) to help make upgrades to our community,” interim Gibbon city administrator Matt Smallcomb explained. “We decided that a walking trail would be our priority and Davis Park would be the focus of that.”
