Wood River School celebrates School Bus Safety Week
Wood River’s Carol Turek recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to the Wood River Food Pantry, which will benefit the pantry and its backpack program.
A local combine reaches the end of a row last week as harvest is underway across the state. Recent dry, windy weather allowed producers to get into fields unimpaired to get harvest work started. For the week ending October 16, there were 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. (–photo by Dennis Walker)
Incumbents Emmy Power and Lisa Stewart will be joined by newcomers Dana Tompkin and Levi Rogers for three seats on the Shelton Board of Education in the upcoming Tuesday, November 8, general election.
Thanks to the Ten Free Trees program, an effort of the Nebraska Forest Service, and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, Gibbon Public Schools received ten trees for Spanish 4 students and Future Business Leaders of America students to plant recently.
