Caitlin Orton and McKinley Ritner have joined the staff at Shelton Public School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Two new faces are part of the staff at Gibbon Public School for the 2026-27 school year. Early childhood special education teacher Rebecca Hoobler and English Language Learners teacher Sara Romero have come on board for the new school year.
The Wood River Rural High School Class of 1981 kicked things off Friday evening, July 31, with a great gathering hosted by Joyce (Heinrich) Willoughby at her home, pictured at left. One of the highlights was Scott Sahling surprising those in attendance by performing the same song he sang at graduation, after finding the original sheet music. It was a special moment for everyone. On Saturday morning, many class members participated in the Wood River FunFest parade and then enjoyed a tour of the high school (pictured below). The Class of 1981 wrapped up the weekend Saturday evening at Babel’s Barn with a delicious meal, lots of laughter, and even more reminiscing. Different classmates were able to attend each event, which gave everyone the chance to reconnect with so many people throughout the weekend. Class of 1981 members pictured above at Babel’s Barn are, front row, left to right, Pam (Isaac) Kimminau, Kim Wiseman, Shelly (Hayden) Wiseman, and Jenie (Harders) Maloney, Patty (Zavala) Moreno; middle row, Vicky (Woitaszewski) English, Barb (Webster) Binfield, Lori (Lambrecht) Wallace, Tammy (Brandt) Purdy, Brenda (Luth) Kaiser, Mike Leonard, Matt Maloney, Phil Dibbern, Darrel Harders, Teresa (Barg) Chramosta, Barb (Harders) McCoun, and Mike Dobesh; and back row, Doug Rathman, Doug Mead, Bill Brandt, Don Welch, Jim Martin, Jim Riley, Gerry Krowlikoski, Mike Wissing, Scott Sahling, and Barry McCoun. Additional class members pictured at the school were Sheri (Bond) Husen, Henry Husen, Barb (Moreland) Gardner, Virg (Woitaszewski) Oseka, and Dianne Whitten. (—courtesy photos)
