Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and current Directed Health Measures (DHM), individuals and organizations of all types have found it necessary to “think outside the box.” Churches, too, are subject to restrictions as to how they can meet in their buildings so, members of the Gibbon Baptist Church have begun to think “outside the box” with some of the community programs held by and sponsored by the church.

Queen and king candidates for Wood River Rural High School’s 2020 Homecoming are, front row, left to right, Boston Boucher, Baylie Codner, Sage Gideon, Keely Wiese, and Par Williamson; and back row, Carson Thompson, Cade Huxtable, Austin Buettner, Devin Jepson, and Dylan Alvarado. Dress up days were held throughout homecoming week, with today (Thursday) being “Tik Tok” Day and tomorrow Spirit Day. Homecoming activities wrap up this week with a pep rally tomorrow for middle and high school students and the football game against Doniphan/Trumbull at 7:00 p.m., followed by the coronation of the homecoming royalty. Instead of a formal dance, there will be games and music at the school for students. It will start after the football game and end by 11:30 p.m. Due to COVID, no outside guests/dates will be allowed; therefore, only Wood River students in grades nine through twelve can attend.
