A threat received at Gibbon Public School caused the school district to go into “Secure” status at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 18. A “Secure” means that all external doors are locked, no one leaves or enters the building, and classes continue as normally as possible. Students and staff remained safely inside the building.
The Shelton Police Department, assisted by the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding a residential trespassing incident in Shelton on Thursday, September 18.
The Wood River Area Community Choir is starting its 23rd year in existence. Its continued success has been the dedication of a nucleus of singers throughout the area who are willing to sacrifice their time to bring quality and enjoyable music to the community. The choir is under the direction of Vincent Boudreau.
With the recent rains that have pelted the area, irrigation trailers are being hooked up and pipe separated for the next stage of the 2025 growing season. On Wednesday, September 10, the Shelton Board of Education voted to increase the district’s base growth percentage used to determine property tax request authority and heard reports by members of the administration as part of the board’s regular monthly meeting.
