Wood River eighth grader Kendall Rennau turned in a third place finish at the Wood River School hosted Hall County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 20. This year’s contest was an oral contest only. No written contest was held.

Dr. Tommy Downey recently joined the staff at the Gibbon Family Dental Clinic in downtown Gibbon. She is working along with Dr. Jason Hermann, serving the Gibbon area from their office at 812 First Street in Gibbon.

Motivational speaker and Chief Executive Officer of TeamMates Mentoring DeMoine Adams visited Shelton on Thursday, January 22, during halftime of the Shelton vs Wood River girls basketball game to recognize all mentors and mentees from both schools. January is National Mentoring Month. TeamMates Mentoring was founded in 1991 by Coach Tom Osborne and his wife Nancy, who believed that positive relationships could change lives. The mission of TeamMates is to positively impact the world by inspiring students to reach their full potential through mentoring.
