“We are still a very young team with only two seniors,” pointed out Wood River boys wrestling coach Darin Waddington of the 2022-23 Eagle team. “The rest are freshmen and sophomores with some juniors sprinkled in.”
After losing a large chunk of last season’s 12-11 team, the Gibbon boys basketball team will charge ahead into the new season with only one returning starter, sophomore Tyler Weismann.
Expectations are very high for the Shelton Lady Bulldogs on the basketball court during the 20222023 season. Fourth-year head coach, Jeff Thober comments, “With the work the girls have put in during the offseason and their experience, we will be a much-improved team. Obviously, the ultimate goal is a state championship, but to get there we have to take it one game at a time. Our focus will be improve every day and win our next game.”
The reins to the head coaching position for the Wood River Eagle football team were handed off to a new coach at an assembly for members of the team in the school theater on Thursday, November 10, where recent Eagle head coach Jeff Ashby passed the coaching duties on to new head coach, Austin Ruskamp.
