Bulldogs bring home the gold hardware from Silver Lake Holiday Tournament

The Red Cloud and Exeter-Milligan boys basketball teams both fell victim to the Shelton Bulldogs at the Silver Lake Holiday Tournament on Thursday and Friday, December 29 and 30. The Bulldogs put Red Cloud away in the tournament’s first round, 58-42, and then crushed Exeter-Milligan, 53-39, for the tournament crown.

Shelton Elementary students recognized for practicing empathy

Shelton Elementary recently announced the December winners in the “Shelton Kid Caught with Character” program. At the beginning of each month, elementary students learn about a character trait and have the rest of the month to practice it. At the end of the month, one student from each grade (kindergarten through sixth grade) are chosen as the “Shelton Kid Caught with Character” winners. Students will be able to take a yard sign home for the month, displaying their hard work and character. During December, the character trait students at Shelton Elementary practiced was “empathy.” Empathy winners included, front row, left to right, kindergartener NalaDrew Svitak, first grader Kesleigh Potter, and second grader Annabelle Wiedeman; and back row, fourth grader Judah Wiese, fifth grader Jaylee Miller-Braun, sixth grader Aspen Jensen, and third grader Nora Johnson.
