Wood River’s boys basketball team finished the LouPlatte Conference Tournament in third place last week after defeating St. Paul in the first round on Tuesday, January 31, falling to Doniphan/Trumbull on Thursday, February 2, and bouncing back to take down Ravenna in the consolation brackets to finish in third place on Saturday, February 4.
The LouPlatte Conference Tournament was rough on the Gibbon boys basketball team as they fell to Ord, 37-45 in the tournament’s play-in game on Monday, January 30, and were defeated by St. Paul in the consolation bracket on Thursday, February 2, by a 25-49 margin.
After entering the LouPlatte Conference Tournament as the number one seed, the Centura Lady Centurion basketball team finished the tournament as conference runner-up.
Gibbon’s wrestling team took on the field at two meets last week ahead of district competition as they took part in a quad at Doniphan/Trumbull that included Centura and Holdrege on Thursday, January 26, and were at the Ord Invitational on Friday, January 27.
