The Cairo Cornstalk Festival will be held this Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12, with the theme Big Small Town, USA and Judy Van Winkle serving as grand marshal.
At the conclusion of the 2020- 21 school year, three long-time staff members at Wood River Rural School made the decision to retire, school nurse Kim Woitaszewski, art teacher Gretchen Wiseman, and music teacher Beverly Wiebe-Brown.
With health restrictions easing up, Shelton is gearing up for the annual Independence Day celebration with the staple events already in place. Activities begin at 8:00 a.m. with the 12th annual Shelton Stampede Run/Walk, and culminates with the fireworks show at dusk.
