GVFD hosts BBQ, Bands & Summer Fun

The start of school means the end of summer for many, but the Gibbon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department put on an end of summer event for everyone to enjoy. The seventh annual barbecue cookoff and dance was held at Rosen Park, in Gibbon, on Saturday afternoon and evening. The CHI helicopter made a landing at the park with the flight crew giving tours of the aircraft. Ten teams took part in the bbq cookoff, while other vendors were on hand as well. J-Rod’s String Band, Switchbak, and Trent Tomlinson highlighted the night of music. See more pictures on page 7 and on our website. (—photos by Steve Glenn)
