The Heartland United Way and Greater Grand Island Community Foundation are hosting the ninth annual Go Big GIVE event on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Go Big GIVE is a 24-hour online giving event where people can visit GoBigGIVE.org to donate to their favorite registered nonprofit organizations in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, or Merrick Counties. Last year, over 140 local nonprofit organizations participated.
Jersey Allan, a sophomore at Wood River Rural High School, was one of more than 500 elementary, junior high and high school cheerleaders and dancers from across the country that represented Varsity Spirit in the 2021 Thanksgiving Tour at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, November 22 through 26.
