Carlos Vargas, director of the Gibbon High School band, has always wanted to be a teacher. This career choice was inspired by his grandfather, who graduated high school and college at 30 and 37 years old respectively.
In the spring of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought a number of challenges to everyone worldwide. Despite the onslaught of a brand-new disease, Faith McDonald, a Centura High senior, found some light in all the darkness for herself and her community. During all of this chaos, McDonald took over the Centura Backpack Program.
