The Shelton school district looks to see an increase in state aid, according to information presented to the Shelton Board of Education at its regular monthly meeting held on Monday, January 17.
Mel Earnest was a local racecar owner with quite the track record. In fact, in 1971, a modified stock car owned by Earnest, of Wood River, and Don Wilson Motor Co., of Grand Island, competed in 17 local races in a single weekend, winning 14, placing second in two, and placing third in one.
