Geoffrey Iringo assumes pastoral duties at Wood River United Methodist Church
Beginning on July 1, Pastor Geoffrey Iringo assumed his duties as the pastor at the Alda and Wood River United Methodist Churches. Born in Kenya, Africa, the fourth of six children, two sisters and three brothers, Pastor Iringo attended school and graduated from high school there in 1991 and despite things pointing him toward becoming a pastor after high school, Pastor Iringo said that he resisted the call to be a pastor “with all my energy.” “For me, pastoral ministry was for other people,” he remembered. “Not for me. However, I was always somewhere doing something in the church. It started when I was young and after high school, forming a ministry for preaching and going around, preaching in our parish composed of several churches.”
