Since December of 2015, Patti Cochrane-Crites, also known as “Postal Patti” to some, has served customers behind the counter at the Shelton Post Office. On Friday, December 29, she will officially retire from the postal service.
“Cozy Christmas,” directed by Calyn Schulte, was presented for family and friends by students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Wood River Elementary on Thursday, December 14. Attendees delighted in renditions of songs such as Dancer and Prancer, Reindeer Parade, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, Dancin’ at the SnowBall, White Elephant, Here Comes Santa Claus, and You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Shelton Goodfellows are seeking volunteers to help with packing food delivering gifts and food Saturday, December 23, at the Shelton American Legion at 9:00 a.m. This is a change in date and time from past Christmas Eve deliveries due to Christmas Eve falling on Sunday.
With the retirements of both Gibbon Postmaster Steve Stroop and regular PTF (parttime flexible) clerk Lynette Hofferber on Friday, December 15, different faces will now greet postal patrons at the counter after many years of seeing Stroop and Hofferber.
The Dannebrog Boelus EMTs held their December meeting at the Dannebrog Fire Hall on Wednesday, December 6. There were 13 members and five guests present.
