Clipper Country Christmas decor makes for a lively season

The Nativity Scene in front of the Baptist Church in Gibbon is but one example of the Christmas and holiday displays by area residents across Clipper Country. Displays big and small lend a festive air to the weeks and days leading up to Christmas Day, this Saturday. Every conceivable type of decoration can be seen with just a leisurely drive through the area towns and is worth the effort. Find more photos of area decor on page 8 of this issue. Astronomer Runyan visits Wood River Elementary ASP Space Club

Shelton astronomer Bob Runyan paid a visit to the ASP Space Club at Wood River Elementary on Thursday, December 9. The ASP Space Club has been learning about rocket launches, stars, craters on the moon’s surface, and light years. Mr. Runyan brought many of his pictures to show the students what stars look like. He also showed a video of the solar eclipse from 2017, which some of the students remembered and brought a telescope for the students to look through. (–courtesy photo)
