Wood River’s boys basketball team ran up against tough competition in two games on the hardwood last week. The Eagles clashed with Adams Central on the road on Tuesday, December 10, and fell to the Patriots, 49-64. Conference foe St. Paul visited Wood River on Thursday, December 12, and were sent home with a 49-33 loss at the hands of the Eagles.
The Lady Buffalo basketball team dropped a pair of home games on the court last week, the first to visiting Overton on Tuesday, December 10, by a 4154 score and then to Arcadia/ Loup City by a 61-41 score on Friday, December 13.
The Lady Bulldog wrestlers made their way to the Wood River Invitational on Saturday, December 14, where they logged a 13th place finish with 41 points from the 22 teams at the invitational. The Northwest girls won the day with 157.5 points.
The 2024-25 basketball campaign for the Wood River boys basketball team began with a home-court battle with Sandy Creek on Thursday, December 5, and a contest on the road at Centura on Saturday, December 7.
The wait for girls wrestling in Gibbon ended as the Lady Buffaloes hosted a triangular with St. Paul and Centura on Thursday, December 5. The ladies then made the journey to compete at the Columbus Lakeview Invitational on Friday, December 6.
