Bulldog wrestlers tie hosts at Fullerton Triangular
At the Tuesday, December 17, Fullerton Triangular, the Shelton boys wrestling team recorded a 30-26 victory over Grand Island Central Catholic and tied host Fullerton 30-30.
At the Tuesday, December 17, Fullerton Triangular, the Shelton boys wrestling team recorded a 30-26 victory over Grand Island Central Catholic and tied host Fullerton 30-30.
The visiting Lawrence/Nelson Lady Raiders were no match for the home team Shelton Lady Bulldogs in a Twin Valley Conference match up won by the Shelton ladies, 56-19, on Thursday, December 19.
“We competed at the Sutton Duals Tournament on Tuesday, December 17,” began Wood River head boys wrestling coach Darin Waddington. “We placed second out of six teams, going 4-1. “Our only loss was our final dual against Class D ranked Thayer Central by three points. We led the whole dual but we let some matches go that we should have been able to win and in a tight dual you just can’t make mistakes like that. Being open at a weight really hurt us, too, and would have made all the difference. That’s a 12 point swing in the big scope of things.”

Gibbon High School’s Mock Trial team, along with coach Angie Clevenger, competed at State Mock Trial held in Omaha at the Hruska Federal Courthouse on Monday and Tuesday, December 9 and 10.
