Go Big GIVE giving day is today

The 13th Annual Go Big GIVE is being held today (Thursday) with 165 local nonprofits in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick counties for a 24 hour period. New this year was the ability to create a fundraiser for your favorite cause at GoBigGIVE.org.
Wood River journalism students compete well at state

“We had a successful trip to state journalism,” said Wood River Rural High School journalism advisor Grant Johnson of the state meet held a Northeast Community College in Norfolk on Monday, April 27. “Lila Morse brought home fifth place in Class C Advertisement and Rose Bredthauer competed in Unified Action Photography and was awarded a gold medal (every unified participant received a medal and feedback). Wood River Lighthouse student team leading the way on Go Big GIVE project

The student led Wood River Lighthouse team has taken on the challenge raising funds for community pickleball courts in Wood River. With the guidance of their teachers, Elizabeth Troyer- Miller and the Wood River Vision 20/20 Board, the students have started their fundraising campaign with fun social media posts introducing their campaign, and rules of the pickleball sport.
