Centura track and field teams finish as runners-up at Gibbon

Both the Centura boys and girls track and field teams finished the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, April 18, in second place among the seven team fields. The Centurions scored 76 team points behind first place St. Paul with 152.50 points and the Lady Centurions chalked up 102 points, second only to first place St. Paul’s 142 points.

Bulldogs host windy track and field meet

“Another blustery day,” Shelton head track and field coach Matt Walter began in describing the day at the Shelton Invitational held on Thursday, April 11. The Lady Bulldogs finished in third place out of nine teams with 63 team points while the boys placed fifth out of the ten boys teams competing. Elm Creek won the girls side of the invitational with 185 points and Wood River took first place in the boys side with 116 points.

Shelton’s Aaron Bly is recipient of ASN Advocate of the Year

“We would like to award the 2024 Autism Society of Nebraska Advocate of the Year award to you, Aaron, for all the work you have done with Kids & Dreams, supporting the autism community, and encouraging those around you,” read the email received by Shelton’s Aaron Bly in late March from Michelle Kelly, secretary of the Autism Society of Nebraska, notifying him that he was the 2024 recipient of that award.
