After changing leads in the first and second quarters, a scoreless third quarter and six points in the fourth quarter from the Gibbon Buffaloes, the Wood River football team held on to log a LouPlatte Conference win by a 21-19 margin on Thursday, October 10.
It was all Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon, October 10, when the Santee Warriors visited Shelton for an afternoon match up with the Shelton football team. The Bulldogs controlled the game from the opening kick and posted a 63-26 win over the visitors.
Shelton’s Lady Bulldog volleyball team swept through Wood River and Ravenna teams at the Ravenna Triangular held on Tuesday, October 8, before taking visiting Kenesaw to five sets on Thursday, October 10, and then met defeat at the hands of the Lady Blue Devils.
A home contest with Overton on Tuesday, October 8, a road match at Elm Creek on Thursday, October 10, and the Loup City Tournament on Saturday, October 12, kept the Gibbon volleyball team busy last week on the court.
The going was tough for the Wood River volleyball team at the Ravenna Triangular on Tuesday, October 8, the Lady Eagles’ sole action last week. Triangular host Ravenna got past the Lady Eagles 2-1, 2115, 27-25 and 25-19, and then were shut out by Shelton, 25-11 and 25-17.
