Senior Emma Kucera led the Gibbon girls track and field team and fellow senior Emanuel Martinez posted the top finish for the boys at the Centura Invitational on Thursday, May 4, where the Lady Buffaloes finished in sixth place with 51 points and the boys were seventh with 19 total points.
The Buffaloes boys golf team of Gibbon stayed busy on the course this past week as they participated in the Grand Island Central Catholic (GICC) Invite on Tuesday, May 2, and the LouPlatte Conference Invite on Thursday, May 4, at the Centura Hills.
On Thursday, May 4, the Shelton boys and girls track and field teams traveled to Sandy Creek for their final meet of the season before districts. Both teams competed well as the boys finished in fourth place and the girls brought home the runner-up title.
Both the Centura girls and boys track and field teams turned in dominant performances to win their respective side of the Centura Invitational held on Thursday, April 4. The Lady Centurions piled up 98.50 first place points and the Centurion boys finished the day in first place with 118 points.
The Wood River boys track and field team finished the Centura Invitational on Thursday, May 4, in second place with 106 points behind host Centura who compiled 118 points. The Lady Eagles finished the day in seventh place on the day.
