The Gibbon mock trial team began competitions on Wednesday, October 25. This year, Gibbon has two teams that are competing. The case this year is a criminal one, with a 19-year-old being accused of taking a selfie that contained classified government information. He then shared this image with an anarchist who posted it to a website. Teams have to read the case materials — witness statements and evidence — and then prepare both sides of the case.

Finding success in volleyball subdistricts, the Wood River Eagles defeated their first opponent, the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals on Monday, October 23, and then found success against the number one seed, Hastings St. Cecilia on Tuesday, October 24, advancing to Saturday, October 28, in which the Eagles traveled to the district final game against Oakland-Craig.

The Lady Bulldog volleyball team found success once again at subdistricts by winning against the Harvard Cardinals on Monday, October 23, and defeating the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders on Tuesday, October 24, allowing the ’Dawgs to advance to the district final game on Saturday, October 28, and compete against the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans in the central location of Crete.
